Karim Tabar was born in Montreal, Canada and moved to New York City's East Village at a young age to pursue his journey into the fashion and advertising world. He held producer positions at Conde Nast and Hearst Digital and attended the New York Film Academy and International Centre of Photography before independently jumping into the photography and film worlds. His editorial and commercial work extends to clients around the world and he founded the creative agency - LOOKS COULD KILL where he leads as the creative director for a long list of global brands.

Karim Tabar has passionately captured artists, celebrities, fashion and some of Burning Man’s most iconic images and films the past decade. His counter culture inspired work has been viewed and shared by millions including the famous music video he serendipitously shot when Burning Man video was virtually non-existent pre instagram days. His beautiful work has included celebrities Paris Hilton, Karlie Kloss, P. Diddy, Karolína Kurková, and several other Victoria Secret models.

His continued dedication to the annual event attracted publications such as Harper’s Bazaar where his work was published for consecutive years in a series of artful editorial fashion spreads. His images were then exhibited at the Hearst Tower in New York City, the same city where he began his career shooting polaroid’s, celebrities, and a directorial music video debut aired on MTV.

During his time in Asia he opened the LCK STUDIO in Hong Kong, he launched and grew his client Fashion One as executive producer, the largest entertainment TV network in the Asia Pacific region and interviewed the most celebrated talents traveling to the region. During this time, he founded ENTERVIEWS, a bespoke interview platform he moderates. Some interviewees have included Zaha Hadid, Pharrell Williams, and Chen Man. For over a decade he has contributed as a photographer of Robot Heart, a collective of doers and dreamers, artists and entrepreneurs.
